Since the launch of Campaign 4, recently appointed game master the talented storyteller has maintained audience suspense with deep backstory, a colorful mix of characters, and a gripping narrative showcasing divine entities, demons, and malevolent powers growing in strength within Dol-Makjar.
Warning: Spoilers for the third episode of Campaign 4 lie ahead.
The Soldiers Table Revealed
The third episode ended with a major cliffhanger and introduced the initial group of adventurers who will branch out from the primary party to embark on their separate journey, distinct from the remaining groups.
The Soldiers table consists of Teor Pridesire (portrayed by Travis), Thimble (Laura Bailey), the strong-willed figure (the cast member), Wicander Halovar (Sam), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie).
Why Split the Party?
With a large ensemble, it was clear from the beginning that keeping everyone at the same party would be unfeasible.
That’s why, the first four episodes of Campaign 4 serve as an Introduction, intertwining the personal journeys before dividing into three separate parties: Fighters, Strategists, and Questers.
Characteristics of the Warrior Group
According to the DM, the combat-focused party is for participants who are drawn to a typically action-packed fight-heavy narrative style where peaceful solutions are few and far between.
At first glance, figures such as the squeamish cleric Wicander Halovar might seem mismatched, but the developments of the latest installment show why these particular heroes are perfectly fit for the combat party.
Reasons to Leave
To begin with, the team has a clear idea where to proceed after a intense opening clash with The Crow Keepers.
A former ally of Thjazi—whose death initiated the story’s plot—manipulated the enemy for his own means, invading the secret base, assaulting the character, and stealing all the magical artifacts to auction.
Casimir then cleared his liabilities and ran away to a Halovar stronghouse in Gormalay, Timmony, north of Dol-Makjar, with Cyd pursuing him.
Individual Reasons
Additionally, each member has a individual motive to exit Dol-Makjar:
- Thimble, as the close ally and closest confidant, wants retribution.
- The adventurer knows the northern area and warns that it is a hostile environment.
- Tyranny and Wicander, having disobeyed his relatives’ demands to kill the fighter and instead freed him, have nowhere else to go.
- Yet, their position as prominent individuals in House Halovar could help the party access areas they normally couldn’t.
- Furthermore, Teor vowed a unbreakable promise to The cleric for his deliverance and will now accompany him everywhere.
Wanted and Hunted
In addition, all of them are wanted by the rulers that govern Dol-Makjar for a multiple motives, making lingering locally dangerous:
- The agile adventurer and Kattigan are notorious outlaws.
- Tyranny and The healer turned against the powerful family and the horde of evil beings they are allied with.
- The target is marked for death by House Halovar.
This leaves them little choice but to journey toward the northern region in search of the antagonist.
What’s Next?
From the latest episode’s post-show segment, we discover that the combat party will be absent the following episode, leaving the remaining eight players to round up the Explorers and Planners tables.
Audiences can anticipate learning which adventurers will be assigned to which table in the story’s final introductory chapter, available to watch on next week.
